SERIES 1600: Vented “Snap-On” Caps for 1500 Series XRF Sample Cups

Slit-Vented “Snap-On” Sample Cup Caps offer a distinct design compared to traditional vented caps with holes. These innovative caps are engineered to create a series of circular physical barriers when fitted to a 1500 Series XRF Sample Cup. The barriers arise from the interaction between integrated ridges on the cap’s interior and the Cell Neck during assembly. This configuration forms circular troughs, which act as passageways connecting the interior of the sample cup to the sample chamber. These barriers create complex travel paths for sample particles, preventing easy access to the sample chamber. Slit-Venting replaces conventional holes to enhance the volumetric air withdrawal while minimising disturbances to powdered samples, ensuring taut thin-film sample window planes are maintained.
